In hospital – opening up my watercolours…

So two weeks into my stay in hospital, I’d had a new treatment and was starting new medications. Bored one night, I opened up my new watercolours…

Armed with my little set of watercolours and the two brushes I’d bought (the same two brushes I use for most of my painting now) I decided to put brush to paper. I felt a bubbling need to create something, to get out what was in my head and turn it into colour and movement on the page. My very first painting was a basic stick of bamboo with pink flowers.
