Held aloft

The #cantfly series of watercolour paintings was inspired after a long admission in hospital, and the challenges faced after discharge. Each depicts a challenge to re-engage with society, and the fears with that – although you have wings – you will forever be tethered to the ground.

“Held Aloft” is a more inspirational piece in the #cantfly series – showing the main character stretching to hold up her wings.   I love the colours in this piece, and you can actually feel the effort going into holding the wings in place.  A feature piece of the series.
