Pleading

The #cantfly series of watercolour paintings was inspired after a long admission in hospital, and the challenges faced after discharge.  Each depicts a challenge to re-engage with society, and the fears within that – although you have wings – you will forever be tethered to the ground.

In the midst of my other paintings in the #cantfly series, “Pleading” is a moment in time when you feel you’d do anything to just let the uncertainty and pain stop. I see this painting as a positive moment in the character’s life, yearning and reaching out for something to change.
