The #cantfly series of watercolour paintings was inspired after a long admission in hospital, and the challenges faced after discharge. Each depicts a challenge to re-engage with society, and the fears with that – although you have wings – you will forever be tethered to the ground.
“Just let go” is an almost peaceful painting, with the main character hugging a flower for comfort and succor. The need behind the painting is to let go of the things in life we see as our safety nets, and to let ourselves soar.
