The #cantfly series of watercolour paintings was inspired after a long admission in hospital, and the challenges faced after discharge. Each depicts a challenge to re-engage with society, and the fears with that – although you have wings – you will forever be tethered to the ground.
“Trying to fly” is another optimistic painting, depicting strength of character and a fearlessness that I’m not sure I personally had when I painted this. It is uplifting in more ways than one.
